Therapy for Sensitive Nervous Systems

Helping sensitive and highly sensitive adults heal from anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship struggles, and early emotional wounds in Florida and New Jersey.

It’s exhausting to feel misunderstood, emotionally overwhelmed, or “too much.” Life can feel heavy when your nervous system is always on high alert.

You feel like you speak another language. No one seems to understand what you mean, how deeply you feel, or why everyday life can feel so overwhelming.

Sometimes you stay quiet to avoid being misunderstood.
Other times your emotions spill over, and afterward you wonder if you're "too much."

You begin to believe something is wrong with you.

There isn't.

I'm Laura.

I help sensitive, anxious, and overwhelmed adults understand their nervous system so they can stop feeling like they're "too much" and begin feeling more at home in themselves.

Many of my clients have spent years trying to hold everything together. They stay strong for everyone else while quietly struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, people-pleasing, relationship difficulties, or shutting down completely. They often cope by staying busy, overeating, shopping, scrolling, or simply pushing their feelings aside—anything to get through the day.

The truth is, there isn't something wrong with you. Your mind and body have learned ways to protect you, and those patterns made sense at one time. Together, we'll gently understand those patterns, calm your nervous system, and build new ways of responding that help you feel safer, more connected, and more like yourself.

My goal isn't to change who you are. It's to help you understand yourself with compassion, so you can experience greater calm, healthier relationships, and the confidence to live as your authentic self.

Find Support for What You’re Feeling

You don’t need to fit neatly into one category. Many people see themselves in more than one of these experiences.

Therapy for Highly Sensitive and Overwhelmed People

You feel everything deeply — emotions, environments, and other people’s moods. You may have been told you’re “too sensitive” or that you overreact, leaving you feeling misunderstood or like something is wrong with you. Crowds, noise, conflict, or even subtle shifts in tone can feel overwhelming, and you may need more downtime than others just to reset.

Nothing Is Wrong With You

Your emotions and reactions are part of how your nervous system is wired — especially if you’re highly sensitive.
You aren’t broken. You aren’t overreacting.
You are responding the best you can with the tools you’ve had.

Therapy offers understanding, support, and tools to feel safe, seen, and in control of your emotions.

How Therapy Creates Lasting Change

Most people come to therapy hoping for answers.

They want tools to manage anxiety, improve relationships, stop overthinking, or finally feel better.

And those tools matter.

But lasting change isn't just about learning new skills.

It's about helping your nervous system experience safety in a new way.

Therapy becomes a place where you can begin to understand yourself with compassion, create new patterns, and feel more at home in your life.

What Therapy Makes Possible

Working together, we'll help your nervous system feel safer so lasting change becomes possible.

Together we'll:

✓ Calm your nervous system and reduce overwhelm.

✓ Understand your reactions with compassion instead of self-criticism.

✓ Reconnect with your emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them.

✓ Build healthier boundaries and more secure relationships.

✓ Heal the impact of early emotional wounds and trauma.

✓ Feel more grounded, confident, and at home in yourself.

My clients often tell me they understand themselves in ways no one has ever explained before. They stop blaming themselves for how they're wired and begin living with greater calm, confidence, and self-acceptance.
